Winter 2025-26 has asked a lot of all of us.
Like many outdoor recreation organizations across the region, Crosscut has been navigating an exceptionally challenging stretch of warm temperatures, rain events, and inconsistent snowfall. These conditions have made trail maintenance, program offerings, events, and daily operations more complex than any of us would prefer.
That said, we want to be very clear: we are excited and prepared to welcome winter when it’s ready to join us at Crosscut. Our team remains committed to making the most of the season we have safely, thoughtfully, and in ways that reflect our values as a community-centered organization.
Over the coming weeks, you may see changes to the Nordic & Trail Center hours, trail openings, or program offerings as we respond to conditions in real time. When conditions allow, we will continue to adapt and gather with community events, programs, and Nordic & Trail Center access.
The most up-to-date information will be available on the announcement bar at the top of our website and Crosscut’s Nordic Pulse page.
We also want to take a moment to recognize our staff — especially our grooming, programs, and operations teams — who have shown remarkable creativity, persistence, and care this winter. The amount of behind-the-scenes effort required to deliver any winter experience in a year like this is significant, and we are deeply grateful for their work, kindness, and positivity.
While this season may not look like a “typical” winter at Crosscut, it has still been filled with meaningful moments: shared laughs on the trails, creative adaptations, community gatherings, and the simple joy of being outside together. Those moments matter, and they continue to guide how we move forward.
We appreciate the patience, flexibility, and encouragement our community has shown, and we’ll continue to communicate clearly as conditions evolve. Thank you for sticking with us — and for continuing to show up for winter, however it arrives.
Warmly,
The Crosscut Team
