Raising $2 million matched dollar for dollar by December 31, 2026

Crosscut’s 10th Anniversary Community Challenge

What began nearly ten years ago as a bold community effort to protect a special place in Bridger Canyon has become one of southwest Montana’s most valued year-round recreation and education resources. Since opening in 2017, Crosscut has grown into a thriving nonprofit hub where people of all ages come to ski, bike, learn, compete, volunteer, gather, and connect with nature.

Today, demand for Crosscut’s programs, trails, and facilities continues to rise. To meet this moment, and secure a strong future, we are launching Crosscut’s 10th Anniversary Community Challenge: a time-sensitive opportunity to invest in the next generation of infrastructure and long-term sustainability.

To meet rising demand, we must grow thoughtfully now, or risk limiting access and opportunity for the community we serve.

What This Campaign Funds

A New Trail Center Building A warm, welcoming, efficient home base designed to better serve guests, programs, and year-round operations.

A Permanent Home for Outdoor Education Relocating the current Nordic and Trail Center to become the basecamp for Montana Outdoor Science School (MOSS), expanding youth and school access for years to come.

New Community Gathering Spaces Two new 40’ yurts to support events, biathlon, and programs, plus a new mid-mountain destination near Jane’s Gate for all to enjoy.

Long-Term Financial Strength Building reserves and operational resilience so Crosscut can thrive for decades to come.

The Vision

Crosscut’s current facilities were built for a much smaller organization and no longer match the scale of our year-round demand.

With expanded gathering spaces, improved infrastructure, and stronger financial footing, Crosscut can serve more people, more effectively, in every season.

By 2030, Crosscut is preparing to welcome 100,000+ annual user days while preserving the welcoming, community-centered character that defines this place.

With your help, we will position Crosscut to operate with greater financial stability by aligning facility capacity with demand and expanding opportunities for earned revenue.

This campaign is about more than growth, it is about ensuring Crosscut remains a critical community resource where connection, belonging, and the outdoors come together for generations.
