Warmest Wishes and Gratitude to Sam Atkins

Sam Atkins, Crosscut’s Director of Operations, has decided it is time to pursue new adventures. He will be deeply missed and impossible to replace, but we have a suspicion he will be frequently spotted on the Crosscut trails.

Sam is one of the smartest, thoughtful, hardworking and dedicated people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. He is one of those rare people who can truly do ANY job and has! He worked in the Nordic Center, built new ski trails, set-up a ski pass scanner, built part of the website, helped create the new logo, trained people on how to wax their skis, created trail maps and signs, secured permits, created an annual budget… the list goes on and on and the reason he is the Macgyver of Crosscut!

In 2016 Crosscut was created and like most start-ups everything had to be built from the ground up including the organization’s culture. Sam has been instrumental in creating a professional, forward leaning mountain sports center that strives to be deeply rooted in the community while also being an aspirational training center for elite athletes. He has helped foster a place that is inclusive, welcoming and warm.

Thank you, Sam, for all that you have accomplished and imparting your heart and integrity into Crosscut. We wish you all the best in your next adventure and look forward to seeing you on Loggers on your skis or bike.

Warmest wishes, to you Sam. From Jen Beaston and your entire Crosscut family
