Adult Team

Adult Team
Coach: Dave Jessen

The Adult Team (formerly Red Team) program is designed for new and returning adult biathletes who would like to participate in biathlon at a recreational or competitive level. The Adult Team will focus on goals for improvement in skills and techniques for biathlon, with the primary focus on shooting and range techniques.

Crosscut’s Adult Team programs will be divided into two groups, a Rec program focusing on new participants and those interested in getting out for a fun activity during the winter, and a Comp program for athletes focused on training and participating in races. The program includes coaching and rifle use for Rec and Comp participants. Comp members are encouraged to purchase personal biathlon rifles, and ammunition for practices and races.

The Winter program will begin November 2020 and end March, 2021.  Practices will be Sunday mornings at Crosscut, and an optional Wednesday evening indoor shooting session at Greenway Range at the Fairgrounds.

Athletes are strongly encouraged to complement their participation in biathlon by joining the BSF Masters Nordic ski program, either as part of the Master’s training group or through their skate ski classes or clinics.

All athletes are expected to pass a rifle safety course (Red Book) annually. Any behavior that does not comply with Crosscut's safety standards will not be tolerated. Cost for the winter season is $400. Please contact coach Dave Jessen with questions. Check back in the Spring for more information about registering. Registration will open September 1.
